Intake & Admissions

At The Bridge, admissions are designed to be simple, supportive, and respectful. Here’s how it works:

On-demand admission, based on bed availability.

Withdrawal and respite services are available without a waitlist. Clients are admitted on a first-come, first-served basis. Beds can only be held if you are traveling from outside Lincoln, and we’ll allow time for the drive.

Who's Eligible?

Adults age 19 and older
Nebraska residents with valid identification
Individuals who can provide proof of U.S. citizenship or legal residence

Evaluation Requirement

To enter residential treatment, clients must have a drug and alcohol evaluation completed within the past six months.

  • If you already have one, we will have you send it to us by email or fax.

  • If you don’t, we can help get you scheduled or connect you with community providers who offer this service.

Our admissions team will walk with you through each step, ensuring you understand your options and have access to the right level of care.

Evaluation

Send a completed drug and alcohol evaluation, completed by a licensed alcohol and drug counselor, to our Case Manager via email at info@thebridgenebraska.org to be considered for Residential Treatment.

Contact Us

Have your loved one give us a call at 402-477-3951 to confirm that the evaluation was received and to begin the next steps in the admissions process.

It’s important that we speak directly with them to ensure they are ready and willing to engage in treatment.

Next Steps

Once our Admissions Committee reviews the evaluation, we’ll reach out to your loved one to discuss the next available opening.

If we’re unable to admit them, we’ll provide referrals to other programs that may be a better fit for their needs.

Withdrawal and respite services are available without an appointment; however, they depend upon bed availability. Residential treatment requires an evaluation and may have a waitlist.

Respite and Withdrawal beds typically do not allow visitation; however, counselors may approve visits on a case-by-case basis as part of an individualized plan of care.

All visits must be approved by a counselor and take place in designated areas. Regular visiting hours are Friday, 5:00pm-7:00pm, and Saturday/Sunday, 12:00pm-2:00pm.

Only ADA-compliant service animals are allowed. Emotional support animals are not recognized under ADA.

We usually prefer people to bring around 7 days’ worth of comfortable clothing and personal hygiene products (deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.). If you would like, bring a book to read or a magazine.

See our “What to Bring” guide for a detailed list of approved items.

Please note: all clothing is laundered on arrival; bedding is provided

Regardless of what program you are a part of, the length of stay is largely determined by your specific needs, progress, and the amount of work you’re willing to put into your recovery. Our team works closely with each client to determine what timeline best supports their success.

  • Withdrawal: 3–7 days (up to 10)
  • Respite: 7-14 days
  • STR Residential: 30–60 days
  • IR Residential: 3–12 months
  • Outpatient: 6–8 weeks

All of our services are voluntary.
